Chandigarh, July 22, 2025 — At a deeply moving and thought-provoking event held at Cup & Kitaab Café, Mohali, celebrated author and educationist Dr. Nitya Prakash launched his 15th book titled “National Commission for Men: Silent Scars – Real Stories of Crimes Against Men in India.”
The event was graced by Shri PIP Singh, Additional Advocate General of Punjab, as Chief Guest, and Shri Rajinder Singh, District Attorney, Chandigarh, as Guest of Honour. The distinguished gathering also included Adv. Chetan Vij, senior advocate and legal rights crusader, along with members of Rotary, social leaders, and intellectuals from across sectors.
The book unveils 19 real-life accounts of men who have faced the darker side of laws intended to protect, but at times, have been misused—ranging from false accusations and dowry traps to domestic abuse and custodial neglect. With gripping narratives and a bold call for gender-neutral justice, the book presents a compelling case for the establishment of a National Commission for Men.
Speaking at the event, Shri PIP Singh remarked:
“This book is a mirror to a reality we’ve long refused to acknowledge. Equality cannot be selective. Just as we stand for women’s rights, we must now find the courage to speak for the silent men too.”
Shri Rajinder Singh added:
“The legal system must evolve with time. Dr. Prakash’s book is not just a literary work—it’s a legal and social document that compels us to think about reform, justice, and fairness for all.”
Adv. Chetan Vij, who also felicitated the author, stated:
“These stories are not fiction—they are facts. And facts demand change. This book should be in the hands of every policymaker and law student.”
Dr. Nitya Prakash, in an emotional and data-backed address, dedicated the book to his late mother and spoke about his journey that led to this powerful publication.
“For 15 years, I have written about love, society, and leadership. But Silent Scars is my most personal and painful book. It gives voice to those who are judged before they’re heard. If we truly believe in equality, then justice must wear no gender.”
The launch was met with resounding applause, media presence, and a renewed conversation around men’s mental health, legal reform, and the urgent need for balanced discourse on gender rights.
Dr. Prakash, a nominee for the 2022 Nobel Peace Prize and CEO of Quality New Zealand Education, continues to champion bold reforms in education, leadership, and social justice. Silent Scars marks a crucial milestone in his literary and advocacy journey.
The book is now available on Amazon, Flipkart, and via www.nityaprakash.in.
