Ahmedabad, India: This World Environment Day, Ahmedabad’s busiest corners were taken over by environmental storytelling from Sajit Surendran and Ishanee Sajit, the creative minds behind Fresh Lime Soda Creatives (FLS). Their latest installation series, “This is what you drink because this is what you throw?” , features nine towering 12 foot water bottles filled with real plastic waste, each placed strategically across the city to confront viewers with the harsh reality of plastic pollution and acknowledge the need of saving our mother earth by reducing the use of plastic.
In continuation of two decade journey of storytelling of environmental public art this year on occasion of World Environment Day the award winning creative duo has created the campaign to spread awareness against use of plastic causing environmental hazards.
From Riverfront and Law Garden to IIM Road, the installations sparked pause and conversation. Commissioned by menswear brand JadeBlue and its CSR wing JadeEarth, with the support of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, the campaign aligns with the United Nations’ 2025 World Environment Day theme: #BeatPlasticPollution.
“This isn’t just visual art. This is a visual protest” says Ishanee Sajit, the visionary duo behind Fresh Lime Soda Creatives. Alongside Sajit Surendran, she has made it her mission to take climate truth out of gallery walls and onto the streets. where it cannot be ignored. “Plastic has found its way into our oceans, our homes, even our bodies,” she continues “These installations demand that we notice and act.” With their signature style of fearless, street level storytelling, Sajit and Ishanee don’t create to decorate. they create to disturb, disrupt and awaken. Their work doesn’t wait for audiences to arrive, it meets them in motion at red lights and city crossings and dares them to pause. Loud, haunting and impossible to scroll past, their design language is urgent by design: Art that doesn’t whisper, but roars.
Our goal is simple,” says Sajit Surendran. “To interrupt the ordinary, To jolt people mid step, spark a thought, stir a feeling even if it’s discomfort. Especially if it’s discomfort. Because that’s where change begins.” Alongside Ishanee Sajit, the creative force behind Fresh Lime Soda Creatives, the duo has mastered the art of making cities speak and shout. Their latest installation is not just part of a campaign; it’s part of a growing legacy where streets become storytelling and silence is no longer an option.
Fresh Lime Soda Creatives doesn’t believe in passive messaging. They believe in bold declarations in oversized metaphors that demand attention. From a 40 foot whale stranded on a city road to globes bursting out of a popcorn tub, Sajit and Ishanee craft public art that’s not here to please, it’s here to provoke And Ahmedabad is listening.
FLS: Known for Speaking Loud Through the Streets
This campaign is part of a longer tradition by Fresh Lime Soda Creatives, who have used public art as a tool for environmental truth-telling:
More Than Art – A Movement
Backed by JadeBlue’s CSR wing, but powered by the independent creative vision of Sajit and Ishanee, this campaign is another chapter in their mission to turn climate anxiety into public action.
“We treat the streets as our stage,” says Ishanee. “Ahmedabad isn’t just a city; it’s our canvas.”
As António Guterres, UN Secretary General recently warned, “Plastic pollution is choking our planet.” This campaign, led by FreshLime Soda Creatives, transforms that warning into a visual confrontation, forcing us to reckon with our consumption and its invisible consequences.
