India has the potential to lead globally in the supply chain domain, and the journey begins with empowering our youth” said Sourav Ganguly at the International Procurement and Supply Chain Conference

New Delhi: The International Procurement and Supply Chain Conference (IPSC) 2025 held in New Delhi, marked a milestone moment for India’s logistics and procurement sector.  IPSC, a non-profit initiative, jointly hosted by ASSOCHAM, India’s apex industry chamber, and Blue Ocean Corporation, the world leader in supply chain training and consulting, was graced by former Indian cricket captain and Board Member of Blue Ocean Corporation, Sourav Ganguly, who drew compelling parallels between high-performance sports and corporate leadership. “Whether on the field or in the boardroom, success lies in foresight, resilience, and teamwork. India has the potential to lead globally in this domain, and the journey begins with empowering our youth,” he said.

The International Procurement and Supply Chain Conference, now in its second India edition, served as a vibrant platform for critical dialogue around the evolving contours of procurement, logistics, and supply chain management. From AI-powered procurement to sustainable logistics, the day-long summit hosted expert panels, keynotes, and leadership addresses that took a call on both challenges and innovations reshaping the global supply ecosystem.

As India’s foremost industry chamber, ASSOCHAM has long championed the cause of industrial transformation through knowledge-sharing and stakeholder collaboration. “Through IPSC, we are laying the groundwork for India to emerge as a global hub for supply chain innovation and talent development,” said Vinod Pandey, Chairman, ASSOCHAM Manufacturing and Capital Goods Council.

Building on a legacy spanning nearly three decades, Blue Ocean is now deepening its commitment to future talent by placing a renewed focus on supply chain skilling at the university level. During IPSC, significant partnerships were forged between Blue Ocean Corporation and some of India’s most respected academic and skilling institutions. These include Amity University, IIM Mumbai, the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), IILM, Gurugram, Indraprastha College for Women, and the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission (UPSDM). Through these agreements, the institutions will integrate Blue Ocean’s globally benchmarked Foundation of Supply Chain Management (FOSCM) program into their academic and vocational training frameworks. The initiative aims to equip students with practical, industry-relevant competencies from the undergraduate level, creating a future-ready workforce capable of navigating complex supply networks.

“These collaborations are national imperatives,” said Dr. Sathya Menon, Group CEO of Blue Ocean Corporation. “We are working hand in hand with India’s top institutions to ensure that global standards of supply chain education are not limited to the boardroom but begin in the classroom,” he added.

Reinforcing the upskilling mission is Blue Ocean’s earlier collaboration with the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), which enables students who complete Blue Ocean’s supply chain programs to access internship opportunities through the AICTE National Internship Portal.

Following the success of its inaugural India edition in Mumbai, IPSC 2025 reaffirmed the growing need for collaborative platforms that bring together academia, industry, and policy to accelerate supply chain transformation. Concluding the event on a forward-looking note, Blue Ocean Corporation announced that the next edition of the International Procurement and Supply Chain Conference will be held in Cairo, Egypt in December 2025, continuing its mission to foster cross-border collaboration and global knowledge exchange in the dynamic logistics landscape.

Headquartered in London and with a strong legacy of training over 500,000 professionals globally, Blue Ocean Corporation has also announced the expansion of its presence across India, with plans to establish new training offices and academic alliances across key metros as well as emerging Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. The company’s India expansion forms part of a broader strategy to localize global excellence and democratize access to world-class supply chain education.
