The Dialogue’s flagship forum returns on August 7 to explore the evolution of competition policy amid AI innovation, geopolitical shifts, and economic transformation
New Delhi, August 01 – As India stands on the brink of a major regulatory shift with the proposed Digital Competition Bill, the question of how competition law should evolve in the digital age has never been more pressing. The Dialogue, a leading public policy think tank, will host the 3rd edition of its Annual International Conference on ‘Competition Law in the Digital Age: Reflecting on Evolving Global Dynamics’ on August 7, 2025, in New Delhi.
The conference will feature distinguished speakers, namely, Shri Sasmit Patra, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), and Shri Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), and convene experts from George Washington University, Columbia University, University of Pennsylvania, IE Law School, and other leading institutions shaping global antitrust thinking.
“With digital technologies reshaping our markets and redefining the rules of competition, India stands at a regulatory crossroads,” said Kazim Rizvi, Founding Director of The Dialogue. “As Parliament considers reforms that may impact the regulatory landscape for technology companies operating in the market, this conference brings together diverse voices to ensure our approach balances innovation with fair competition. The forum brings together leading voices from around the world, offering a unique space for cross-border learning, and ensuring our policy response is both progressive and pragmatic, tailoring global best practices to India’s digital journey.”
With governments across the world, from Brussels to Delhi, struggling with the complexities of regulating digital markets while balancing innovation, fair competition, and consumer welfare, India is contemplating its own unique policy approach rooted in local realities. The gathering will serve as a critical forum for exploring global best practices, drawing comparative insights, and charting India’s path forward.
